The Philippines is known as a poor country and belongs to the third world country. But the Philippines may be poor financially and famous with political mishap, they are rich in culture because of their rich history.

THE PHILIPPINES HISTORY

The Philippines history is known to start on March 16, 1521 where Magellan landed on the island of Cebu but that was not the start of the Philippine’s story. It all started when a native group called Negritos migrated to the Philippines. There were the first people in the Philippines. The ancient history of the Philippines was hard to tell because there is no evidence of their actual existence.

The Philippines was being colonized by different races, the Spaniards, Americans and Japanese. Each colonizer tried to conquer the Philippines and make it as part of their country but the Filipinos did not let them. Many Filipinos fought for their freedom and they got it eventually.

Though the Spaniards, Americans and Japanese finally leave the Philippines, their influences still remain and become part of the Filipino’s life.

Up until now the Philippine history is being taught in school from elementary to high school and some curriculum in college includes Philippine history. This is being done to let the youth be more aware of the Philippines past and to make them appreciate the Philippines more.

THE IMPORTANCE OF HISTORY OF THE PHILIPPINES

The importance of the history of the Philippines is it plays a big part on whatever the Philippines had become. The culture, values and way of living of the Filipinos are been inspired and influenced by the foreign races who visited the Philippines. The history also shows that there are brave Filipinos who are ready to die for the love of country. The history molded the Philippines into a democratic country with rich culture and good values.

Knowing the history of one place is important because it will make you more educated and aware about the place. The history of the place will make you appreciate the place even more and it can even earn the respect they deserved.
