The Philippine cuisine is like the Philippines’ ethnicity, very diverse from one another and each exudes their own characteristics and each cuisines can also represents one group of ethnicity and their tradition.

PHILIPPINE CUISINE HISTORY

Way back on the time of the Philippines ancestors, their way of cooking are roasting, boiling and frying and their foods came from the animals around them. They cook, chicken, pig, cow, and even animals like lizards and snakes and anything they can see on their surroundings.

When our neighbor countries such as China, Malaysia and Indonesia came to the Philippines to exchange their goods for our goods, they also introduce their own traditional cuisines. They offer foods in exchange for an accommodation for a night.

The colonization of the Spanish leaves many influences; their biggest influence is Catholicism but aside from religion, Spanish also has a big influence in Philippine Cuisine. They introduce the use of the seasonings to the food. The foods that been influenced by the Spanish are mostly the foods we see in our table during our meal and special occasions.

PHILIPPINE CUISINE TODAY

Spanish are not the only foreign race who has a big influenced with the Philippine cuisine. The Philippines has many visitors from foreign land and each race leaves their own influences.

Today, foods from different countries are still being served but with the brilliant mind of the Filipino chefs they can turn foreign dishes to a Filipino dish. They put a Filipino touch in it and turn it to a Philippine cuisine.

PHILIPPINE CUISINE GOING WORLDWIDE

Philippine cuisine cannot only be seen in Filipino families’ table or local fiesta but also in different countries. Philippines cuisine are going worldwide mainly because there are lots of Filipinos are going to other countries to work and they bring Philippine cuisine with them.

There are some Filipinos in other countries that put up restaurants that serve Philippine cuisines. With that the locals of that country had a chance to taste Philippine cuisine. Culinary became in demand in the Philippines and there are lots of Filipino chefs that are making name in other countries. They also introduce Philippine cuisine to other countries and their locals like it. Because of its rich flavors and delicious taste, foreigners fell in love easily with Philippine cuisine.
